An Indian Prayer~Grandfather Cries

-GRANDFATHER CRIES-
Grandfather do you know me?
I am your blood.
The son of your son.
I come to ask you a question Grandfather.
Grandfather, don't you know?
There are others that want to be Indian,
And if they can start from nothing,
I should be able to stop from something?
Grandfather don't you know me?
Grandfather, I don't look like you.
I don't know what you know.
It would be easy for me to hide behind my paler skin.
No one would know the pain I feel.
Or the tears I cry for your great-grandchildren.
Grandfather, don't you know me?
Grandfather, look what I have done to our world.
Mother Earth is on her knees.
The snake and owl rule the day.
I don't understand the language you speak Grandfather.
Grandfather, don't you know me?
Grandfather, I want my Pepsi, Levi's and Porsche too.
I want to go where the others go,
I want to see the things they see too.
I don't have time to dance the old way Grandfather.
Grandfather?
Grandfather, why are you crying?
Grandfather, why are you crying?
Grandfather, why are you crying?
Grandfather, don't you know me?

People are gathering from all over the globe insisting Leaders address the needs of people/earth

This link leads to Upworthy.com http://youtu.be/HmlL-fS0jhU and a video that will hopefully spark hope inside the viewers.
What is happening on a global scale is frightening and exciting.  To see our youth stand up and say "No, enough is enough".
Your help is needed. Decide for yourself. This is a movement to change the world and the only way that can happen is if people unite.
I have said this on every social profile I have. Unity is the solution. The powers that be can be neutralized only by the people uniting.
Take a few minutes and follow the tweet to Upworthy.com http://youtu.be/HmlL-fS0jhU to view the short video. There is no cost.
No harm no foul is one is not ready or interested.
One that is interested, here is a good place to start.

Miss Adichie "The danger of a single story" aired on "Ted Talk"

Hands down, one of my favorite Ted Talks lectures.  My eleven year old daughter enjoyed this lecture.  To me, this is noteworthy as it testimony of the speaker's gift to cross generational boundaries.  My daughter and I enjoyed Miss Adichie so much we wanted to see if she was going to stop in Oregon on her tour.  Unfortunately we found we had missed her by three weeks.

Miss Adichie is a gifted storyteller. The lecture is about twenty five minute in duration.

Here is to extinguishing stereotypes and continuing to evolve in this human journey...
